Does a 1997 Toyota Camry have a fuel filter?

The 1997 Toyota Camry uses its fuel injection system to deliver a precise amount of gasoline to the engine. The fuel filter eliminates debris and particles that may harm the fuel injectors and other engine components. Toyota recommends fuel filter replacement every 30,000 miles or 24 months.

Where is the fuel filter located on a RAV4?

Two fuel filter setups exist on the RAV4 line. One of the setups is non-serviceable because the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump and is located inside the gas tank. The other is serviceable underneath the vehicle, on the frame rail nearest the gas tank.

How do you change the fuel line on a RAV4?

Consult the owner’s manual or look under the vehicle to ascertain which setup a particular vehicle has. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface and set the parking brake. Place wheel chocks around one wheel to prevent rolling. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Open the fuel filler cap to release pressure on the fuel lines.

Do you have to change the fuel filter?

As I recall the tank has to be dropped to access the fuel pump & filter. The filter is no more than a “sock” over the intake. There is no reason to replace the filter, it’s not regular maintenance.
