This normally happens in the morning when its really cold pretty sure it was -5 both times. After going to the dealer they said it came up with multiple codes from replace 4WD Selector Switch, to replacing the actuator, to not communicating with the ECM.

Can a 4WD dash switch be replaced on a 2002 TrailBlazer?
The dealership has replace the 4WD dash switch on my 2002 Trailblazer at least twice over the years for the same situation but my new mechanic just reprogramed the computer which fixed it. Do a search on this because it happens alot to the Trailblazers.

My 2002 TBLZR has had intermittant problems over the years. It has automatically switched to 4WD hi & lo very intermitantly usually after pullling off the hwy. 4 times in the years the service 4wd lite came on and then went off. I have hrdly ever used the 4WD.
Why is my 4WD not working on my 2002 truck?
On some 2002 model year trucks, the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) can have trouble waking up when the engine computer tries to talk to it. Fuse #8 in the engine bay fuse block provides power to the TCCM. Pulling this fuse and replacing it will usually wake the TCCM up and allow the use of 4WD for a time.
Where is the 15 Amp Fuse on my Trailblazer?
According to the schematic, there is a 15 amp fuse in the rear fuse block below the left rear seat. Did you check that? Also, under the hood at the fuse block, there is a black / white wire which is a ground. Check to see if it is in good condition. I have attached a schematic.
