Can a car start and go to gear?

Can a car start and go to gear?

Car will start and go to gear but only revs up but won’t My car will start fine and when I was driving it to work it started to just rev and at first wouldn’t go past 25mph then when I pulled over and checked all my fluids it was fine.

Why does my car jump when I shift gears?

It starts to happen maybe about a half hr after I turn the car on driving around town (on the highway I’m fine) and when I shift gears from like Reverse to Drive it takes a couple of seconds and then the car jumps. Can you tell me what that is? (I’m thinking transmission but I’m no mechanic) Thanks

What causes an erratic shift in a car?

In today’s computer-controlled transmissions, an erratic shift could also be due to a bad sensor or shift solenoid. These types of problems can often be checked using a transmission or factory scan tool that can check pressures and solenoid operation when plugged into your car.. Hard shifting is a common problem with automatic transmissions.

When did my car start having problems starting?

Started having problems starting after the car was warmed up a few months ago. Usually it started up perfectly first thing in the morning.

What should I do if my car won’t start?

Needed to get it replaced. (what worked to get it started, is turn the key and tap on the starter in your engine at the same time) Your starter (solenoid) is failing or has a bad connection. Should be < $600 total parts/labor if so. Due to the intermittentness of your problem and that it seems to be getting worse.
