Why is the footwell of my Ford Focus wet?
Bumped into a bit of a soaking problem in my car. The rear passenger side footwell is somewhat wet and now smelly. I can’t identify where its coming from though, it seems to be predominant after driving in the wet (not consciously noticed it when its rained hard and the car has been idle) as the carpet looks like its been rained on.

Its not at the sides but more in the centre of the carpet too. Door seals look ok, and no water running down them.

Where is the leak on a Ford Focus?
There are several common leak issues but for different generations of Focus: MK2/MK2.5 Focus hatchback can leak via the spoiler mounting holes as well as where the wiring for the rear light clusters enters the bodywork. MK3 Focus hatchback can (usually does) leak via a vent hidden under either side of the rear bumper.
