Why does my radio shut off when I turn it up?
This can happen if any types of speaker wires are touching together or if a particular speaker is faulty, as it can trigger the radio to go into protection mode. Best way would be to disconnect each speaker from the four channels on the wiring harness with the volume up all the time.

So disconnecting the negative (black) lead from the battery is simple (and for computer geeks like me) is the equivalent of a system reboot! Just FYI F85 is for heated seats controls, in-vehicle temperature sensor and roof opening panel module (per Workshop Manual Wiring Diagrams).

Where are the fuses for the dashboard lights?
Check under the hood, under the dashboard, or near or in the glove compartment. Once you find the fuse box or boxes, remove the lid and check the diagram on the underside of the lid for a fuse labeled “dash lights” or just “lights.” Refer to your owner’s manual if you have trouble locating the fuse boxes or the dashboard light fuse.

What causes the dash cluster to go out?
The dash cluster itself may also have gone out. This runs in order with a lot of wiring to other accessories, and may cause the others to fail. These connections to the instrument cluster also can come loose. You may want to check the terminals and make sure they are in good working order.
