Where does the clicking noise come from on my LX?

Clicking noise coming from under dash or steering column on driver side. LX model, no sensing. About 3 weeks ago my LX began to make this clicking noise inside the car that appears to be coming from either the lower dash on the driver side or the steering column.

Why does my car have play in the steering column?

Unfortunately there are two fasteners which comes loose over time, causing play in the steering linkage. When going under the dashboard under the steering column, you can see a bracket which is basically above the hood release.

What makes a clicking sound under the steering wheel?

I have a 2006 that has started making a clicking electrical sounding noise under and to the right of the steering wheel in the dash area. The sound continues even when I turn off the air. One time it continued after I had turned the van off. Any suggestions? I have a similar noise.
