Can you replace the air bag module on a Ford Escape?
A used module with the same part number and not being in a wreck works perfectly fine. We replace ours with the one from the parts car. This procedure should work on Ford Escape Air Bag Module, Mercury Mariner Airbag Module and most likely on Mazda Tribute since they share the same platform with the Escape.

Remove those to expose the four studs / nuts that hold the seat in place. DO NOT UNPLUG ANY OF THE CONNECTORS UNDER THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT.

Remove fuse 86 (10A) from the BCM (fuse box behind the glovebox). Turn the ignition ON and watch the airbag warning indicator for at least 30 seconds. The airbag warning indicator remains lit continuously (no flashing) if the correct fuse is removed.
