Do AU Falcons have OBD2?
Do AU Falcons have OBD2?
In AUstralia – the AU flacon is equiped with an obd2 connector – but will not connect with my odb2 scan tool. I’m almost certain that Ford never used the same protocols as GM.
Are there diagnostic codes for Ford AU Falcon?
-AU Falcon DTC diagnostic trouble codes (are they listed in a service manual?) The standard obd ones and also the extended ones too. It would be nice to get some data out of the ecu, but there is so little real information on the web to connect to any ecu that uses the SCP protocol.
Do you need a diagnostic tool on an AU Falcon?
Interesting that the AU doesnt have the diagnostic ‘flashy flashy’ lights on the ecu, and the gregorys says “A professional scan tool must be used”. Perhaps you could ask your scantool rep what standard the AU1 is…?
Is there an OBD-II port on an AU Falcon?
Obviously there’s an OBD-II port, but various sources say it’s non-standard pins, non-standard protocol, and others say it’s an EF/EL style “flashing codes” arrangement just reterminated in a different socket. What is the actual truth here? Can the old “STI/STO” method be used, and if so, what’s the pinout? Is a digital reader/scanner required?
What kind of diagnostic system does Ford AU use?
After much much digging on the net, I am led to believe that the AU uses an OBD-II compatible protocol called J1850-PWM, but a ford variation of that called SCP (Standard Corporate Protocol).
