Why is my radiator leaking on my F150?

Why is my radiator leaking on my F150?

As the pressure created by the water pump pushes coolant through the F150’s radiator, it’ll follow the path of least resistance, which is through the damaged part of the radiator. The leak will grow bigger. As the radiator leaks, it’ll cause your F150 to overheat.

Why does my Ford F150 have red fluid under it?

If you’ve found red fluid under your Ford F150, you probably have a transmission leak. A transmission leak is a big deal. If you let too much transmission fluid leak, the transmission will begin to slip, which can quickly cause long term damage. Unlike oil, transmission fluid is flammable, and will flash if it hits the exhaust manifold.

Where does the transmission fluid leak on a Ford F-150?

Figure 5. This transmission is leaking from it’s rear seal. You can tell from the dampness around the rear area and the color of the fluid. Figure 6. It’s clear from this angle that transmission fluid is leaking. From where, exactly, is more difficult to determine.

Where does the coolant come from in a Ford F150?

If the leak is actually in the back, it is often the engine heater. But, liquid runs all over, mine appeared to be dripping everywhere, but came from the front. Most are either right under the reservoir or from the y-connector between the upper hose and thermostat.
