Started getting the telltale signs of the pick-up tube o-ring failing ie flickering pressure needle, never dropped below 40 but definitely needed speedy attention.
Can a Fel-Pro 72401 O-ring be used?
The OD of the old oil inlet o-ring had flattened, after 149,000 (not bad) used this o-ring along with part ACDelco 12612350 pan gasket be sure to use RTV in the four corners and tighten bolts to spec. No issues with fit, function or leaks. If your 5.3 has low oil pressure, and a lifter ticking , this may be your problem, as it was mine.
