Why is the light not working on my 4×4?

It is always a good idea to cycle it and run it in 4×4 on a regular basis, just not on a hard surface. The light comes on when the motor has rotated the shaft to the correct position. I did not try to turn the shaft. I take it that it will get bound up internally if not used often.

Why does my Ford F350 not have a light?

So I have a 2003 F350 6.0 and when you shift it into 4wd hi or low nothing happens. No lights on the dash come on and I have tested and there is no power going to the motor on the t-case. Any ideas? I have tested all the fuses I could find and have switched out relays under the hood to check that, but still nada.

Well snows here and my 4×4 switch wont engage the transfer case. My question is how to check the switch, the part that is on the transfer case that changes the ranges, and i also read there is a 4×4 control box behind the glove box. Any info would help i hate not having 4×4 when i need it.

Nothing lights up when I turn the 4×4 switch. No the switch does not light up at all. The 4X4 and LOW RANGE in the instrument cluster only light up when I start the engine and then go out like all the others.

Checked resistance values as per the attached document above and it states if no 5V referance voltage is at connector for 4×4 switch on dash to replace the 4×4 module. I have tried a USED unknown condition 4×4 module and no differance in operation except at that time I never checked voltages to the extent of today.

What to do if your 4×4 is not working?

Key on engine off, the 4×4 and low range lamps come on as they should then cycle off. Key on engine running no warnings on dash. Go to switch it from 2H to 4H nothing happens, no clicks, nor lamps on the dash saying 4×4 has been engaged. Put truck into neutral go to shift from 2H into 4L same issue.
