Why is my Ford Escape XLS door ajar?

Have had some luck spraying some lubricant in the latch and opening and closing the door a few times. Other than that a scan tool capable of determining what door would be easiest way to start at faulty door. From there possibly bad switch , broken wires in door jamb would be my guess.
