Why do I get horrible fuel mileage on my Ford F150?
I am getting horrible fuel mileage on a 2002 Ford F150 5.4. Could it be the o2 sensors going bad. no light in on just started getting bad fuel mileage. the last tank was 13.3 mpg. the tank before that was 14.6. I use cruise when possible and keep the rpm’s below 2000. KLM air filter is clean, tires are at 33 psi.

If the CEL is on have the codes checked and it will probably lead you to your problem. Such a drastic drop in mileage is often associated with a bad 02 sensor. My 2010 FIT dropped 20% immediately upon moving to a much colder climate. I checked tire pressure and changed air filter, changed gas stations. Still off by 20% ( 10 miles per gallon). Is it just the cold environment? Car is parked in a garage when not driven
