What kind of engine is in a Ford F150?
I have personally owned three F150s with that motor and I think that it is one of the best engine/transmission combinations Ford has put together. My latest truck is equipped with the 2.7L V6. This motor was introduced in 2015 as the second Ecoboost engine available with the F150. Here is a table of the 2.7L Ecoboost vs. the 5.0L V8:
Is there a Ford F-150 with 2.7 EcoBoost?
Hello fellas…I have a friend who is looking to purchase a 2018 Ford F-150 with the 2.7 ecoboost. He doesn’t know much about these engines so he asked me.
What kind of engine does a Ford 2.7 have?
Following the success of the 3.5 EcoBoost, Ford introduced the 2.7 twin turbo EcoBoost engine in 2015. The 2.7 liter engine makes a respectable 315-335hp and 350-400tq. 2.7 EcoBoost engines don’t offer quite the same power as the larger 3.5 liter engines. However, it’s more than enough power for most and comes in at a cheaper price.
Why is my Ford 2.7 V6 engine not working?
Over time, the oil sticks and hardens on the valves and is known as carbon build-up. This restricts air-flow and can cause 2.7L EcoBoost cylinders to receive inconsistent amounts of air. Carbon build-up isn’t a serious problem that needs fixing immediately. Some Ford 2.7 V6 engines might even go their whole lives without cleaning the intake valves.

What kind of fuel injection does a Ford F-150 use?
The direct fuel injection provides precise fuel management and eliminates the risk of detonation since the engine has a high compression ratio – 10.3:1. Ford introduced the 2018 model year Ford F-150 with the second generation 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine. The upgraded engine got a number of changes similar to the second gen 3.5 EcoBoost.
