    Why is no throttle adjustments on engines?

    The reason your equipment has no adjustable throttle is because that is how the equipment manufacturer asked the engine manufacturer to make the engines for them. A big part of the engine features are the equipment manufacturer’s doing.

    Turn the idle screw, now exposed from the protective rubber coating, in order to adjust the idle. Loosen the screw in a counter-clockwise fashion to increase idle speed or tighten it in a clockwise manner in order to decrease the idle speed. Ideally, you will want the idle to rest at 650 RPM.

    Can the throttle position be high during idle?

    Sometimes the throttle can also be stuck to a high idle position because of gunk and grime that gets either underneath it. Grime and sticky substances can also get inside the throttle cable and cause that to malfunction as well. I had a CB650 that actually had both of these issues.
