The first distance traveled after initial startup has very little brake activity due to the pump not creating brake pressure.
Why is the brake pedal slow to come back up?
Problem is: when I press the brakes in normal operation, the pedal is very slow to come back up (maybe 5 seconds), and the brakes drag until it comes back up. It appears that it is a known issue by Ford as some trucks have been recalled based on their manufacture location, my truck was not made at the location needed to qualify for the recall and fix of the problem, however the same issue exists as those that do qualify. Why do I need to replace my caliper on my F150?
Your F150’s disk brakes use pistons to push the brake pad into the rotor. These pistons have a rubber seal around them. This seal can go bad and the piston will start to lose its free movement. If this is the case, the caliper will almost always need to be replaced.
