This all started after the pickup blew a high pressure oil line and was replaced. The mechanic checked everything and can’t locate any possible signs of a problem. The battery warning light is still lite up when the ignition switch is turned on. The batteries drain when the truck sits. has to be charged up or jumped to start it.
What should I do if my Battery Light is on?
Battery light on. Drive a while stop the truck turn it off etc. Turn the truck back on then getting 12.5V won’t go above that and the battery light remains on. The next day very same thing. Voltage is at 13.5 with battery light on drive and do what i need to get to where I’m going, shut the truck off then get back in and turn it on 12.3- 12.5V max.

I had checked Fuse #6 under the hood which was suppose to be for the alternator and it was fine, but I never checked #7 (secondary alternator) because my truck isnt equipped with the secondary alternator. However I pulled #7 today (5 amp) and it was blown. Replaced it and the light went out.
