You have a leak in the air vacuum system that controls the air flappers. When you step on the gas you loose engine vacuum and with the leak the flapper vacuum goes down also.

Why does AC stop blowing out the defrost vents?
After installing a new blower fan motor the ac would only come out the defrost vents. The factory vacuum check valve is very hard to get to. So i bypassed it. Now it is working like it should and ac comes out the dash vents. I do not have a vacuum reservoir installed i will have to see if i will need to add it later.
Is there no air from the dash vents?
I have a 1999 superduty f250 early diesel, the air only blows from the floor and defrost but not the dash vents. I have swapped over known good parts from my other diesel, I have changed the climate control, air pump, checked my vaccuum lines and watched the actuator moove on the air box, any ideas?
Is the air still coming through the defrost vents?
Air still coming through defrost, visually inspected lines going to hubs, look fine. The air coming through the defrost is AC if I put it on AC setting and not AC if I turn it to regular air. I haven’t had weather to see if the defroster setting would work, do you guys know if it would and could this vacuum issue compromise my 4hi or 4lo?
Why does my Ford F250 have no defrost?
Folks,,, same problem as the start of the string. Have no defrost on a 2015 Ford F250 Superduty with ONLY 1,950 miles. Took to the dealer to get fixed and they scoped out the vent with a camera and showed me pictures of US Coins (change) that’s fallen down the defrost vents and is blocked the damper door of the vents under the dash.
Why does my vacuum not defrost the dash?
The vacuum runs both the heater damper door and the 4×4 automatic hubs. Usually when the vacuum pump dies or a hole gets pinched in the line, the Damper door will default to the Defrost position. So you can not get air to the dash or floor vents. Its a safety feature to make sure you can see out the windshield in the event of vacuum failure.
