Why does the front of my car rattle when I hit a bump?

A “rattle“ sound on light bumps (cracks in road): This is consistent with anti roll bar drop links that are worn out or that have snapped. Notably, this sound often goes away when a vehicle reaches higher speeds. Alternatively, this sound could also indicate worn-out shock absorbers.

Where does the rattle sound come from on a car?

Doesn’t make any noise on the regular road unless it’s a big bump at lower speeds to be heard clearly, but on dirt roads you can hear it rattle a lot. I’ve replaced front struts w/ ready mount, front endlinks and sway bar bushings.

It seems to only have been heard/felt when going over an elevation change or when the suspension was unloading. Ive also heard it when pulling slowly into the driveway. I’ve taken it to Chevy twice so far and described the noise coming from the front end. They stated that they checked the whole front end and everything is tight.

Where does the rattling sound come from in a car?

Q: Rattling sound coming from front drivers side wheel well. When driving at slow speeds over bumpy terrain, there is a metallic rattling sound coming from the front driver’s side wheel well. This noise can best be hear at low speeds and only happens when driving over a pothole or bumpy terrain. My car has 18500 miles.
