Why are my power windows on my Ranger XLT not working?

I had issues with my ’04 Ranger XLT, where both driver and passenger windows would intermittently stop working. Now, with one completely down, and the other half way down, they both stopped working. I’ve read about a power window lockout (relay?), But not sure if that has anything to do with it.
