The speed shop could not fix the overdrive flasing light by replacing the speed sensor and there wasnt a problem with the overdrive button. Truck had to go to a transmission shop in phoenix where it was determined that the solenoid pack and torque converter needs to be replaced.

Now that the tranny is better the rpms have come down for ex at 65mph the rpms were 2700-2750 now at 65mph they are 2450-2500. The shifting is smoother and the od light is not driving me nuts. I was not missing any gears but Im assuming that the tc was slipping and thats why my rps were higher than they are now.

As the truck shifts from 2 to 3 , it seems like it half shifts and then hits third. The truck still feels like its in a gear (cant tell if the clutches are slipping) in the half shift… any thoughts?

A few days ago on the way home from work, it was holding out longer (RPM’s) before shifiting into OD. Last night on the way to a dinner, it popped right out of OD and would not pull in any gear (even reverse).

Can any one tell me what this means. I own a 2003, 7.3 liter, Power Stroke Diesel. The overdrive light on the transmission shifting arm will suddenly start flashing and the transmission will down shift. I have taken it to three mechanics and no one has resolved the issue.
