The way this actuator works, is it is a sealed chamber that gets heated by voltage. When it heats, the pin in the end swells and pushes a shift fork in the front differential. The shift fork engages a spline on the passenger side of the differential, and boom! you have 4WD.

Could be possible that the transfer case is bad, and what you’re seeing is the driveshaft turning because the actuators have kicked in… but the only reason its turning is because the front wheels are. Update: I removed my actuator and 12v ran it to 12oclock. (4wd) with the bike suspended rotated the wheels with the switch in 4wd. The bike still read 2wd on the display. The actuator then returned to 9oclock (2wd) after a few rotations.

You get ‘2 LO’ by breaking the ground wire in the circuit IIRC…. The brown wire is a 12V supply wire…. I’m sorry to hear you had troubles, Chris. I looked up the price of the electric actuator – it’s very expensive for what it is.
