What happens when you put a car in drive?
Put into drive and it starts to hesitate and then ultimately just dies. ONLY if I put it in Drive. Keep it in park, and you can rev it just fine. After it dies, it takes a few more cranks to get it started, but always starts and idles…until you go in drive.
Why does my car stall when put into drive?
Not sure if it was just because it was cold… it was the original one so I assume it was time to change it. Car would stall when put in gear, idled fine otherwise. All gears would cause the car to stall. If you gas it, it would remain on and continue to run. So if you are trying to back in park or whatever, it would stall.

What causes a car to stop while driving?
The crankshaft sensor is a necessary part to make your car engine running on a lot of car models. On some car models, you do also have a camshaft position sensor, which the car uses if the camshaft sensor is faulty. In this case, a faulty crankshaft position sensor may not cause the car to stop entirely.

Why does my Car start but when I put it in drive?
My mechanic said it was the transmission but i want a second opinion. It starts up fine it just won’t move once i put it in drive and press on the pedal. My car has an automatic transmission. This is often a sign of low transmission fluid or a faulty transmission control solenoid.
