I just looked on my tachometer dial there is a solid red light that keeps blinking from last night only when I locked my car. I’ve never seen it before.
Where is the red light on the speed dial?
Owners manual is pretty useless on this light. Its not shaped like anything. It sits about 1/4 inch to the right of the base of the speed needle. The 6 for 6th gear sits in the same place but on the left side of the needle. It is just a small round red light that shows up, scares me, and then goes away. No loss of performance that I can feel.
Why is the speedometer not working on my sportsman 400?
If it’s counting hours but not miles it’s the Hall sensor. If the Hall sensor or wire to it is bad, with the AWD still work? I just bought a 2001 Sportsman 400 and the speedometer/odometer are not working but the AWD is.
Why is the speedometer not working on my Polaris ATV?
Could be a number of reasons the plug for the hall sensor came undone, the hall sensor failed or the wire to it broke, the speedo is broken just to name a few. Does anything work on the speedo like the various gauges, fuel, hour, shift position,etc? Yeah the rpms work the hour meter works my awd works.
Is the Hall effect sensor still working on the Speedo?
Yes the AWD will still work with the Hall Effect Sensor is broken. I’m not sure, but I think on the older non-digital speedo if it quits it doesn’t affect AWD operation like the newer models.
