Not sure if the issue is with gear box itself. Also, do check if there is a clutch switch present near the pedal. Usually when the clutch switch goes bad, this problem occurs, since during deceleration, fuel is cut and this should resume when you press the clutch, or the car isnt decelerating ie idling.
