You don’t technically need to disconnect the battery as it won’t cause an error unplugging the injector, but I would rather not take the chance of fuel everywhere!

Sometimes, these may need to be rocked back and forth, but not so much that it may damage the rail. Get a fuel injector puller to remove the fuel injectors from their ports.
