The electric windows frozen jammed. Passenger door had same problem and would not close until hot water was pored over. Assuming it is all down to frozen parts but getting locked inside isn’t good. It was like the dead locks where on. Just had this happen to me today on my ‘08 Focus.

Why is my car door not closing in the Cold?
The last 3 mornings it would not close but then, later in the day when the temperature is a bit warmer, it worked perfectly normally. I took it to a garage yesterday who sprayed a load of WD40 in the door latch (on the door) and said that should do it. It didn’t.
