Why does fuel pump run constantly when key on?
The fuel pump is running constantly when you turn the key on but don’t fire the engine. Normally it will pressure the rail and then stop. Is this a computer issue or could something else be causing this? I’m stumped. I’ve pulled the battery cables nd the chip to see if it would reset itself but nothing helped.

How can I Trick my fuel pump into running?
To trick the fuel pump into running, find the ECC test connector and jump the connector in the upper RH corner to ground. If the fuse links are OK, you will have power to the pump. Check fuel pressure – core. Fuel should squirt out, catch it in a rag. A tire pressure gauge can also be used if you have one – look for 37-40 PSI.
Is there a check engine light on an 86-88 Mustang?
There is no functional check engine light on the 86-88’s except possibly the Cali Mass Air cars. The STI has a gray connector shell and a white/red wire. It comes from the same bundle of wires as the self test connector. 89 through 95 cars have a working Check Engine light. Watch it instead of using a test lamp.
