Is it possible for a dump truck to break your driveway?
The chances of breaking your driveway are pretty slim, but the consequence of him doing so can be costly. Air up the tire on your wheelbarrow and get after it. Your other alternative is to get a 6 yard load dropped, and then another as/if needed.
Can you pay for damage to a driveway?
If the owner is concerned about possible damage to the driveway then they can pay for whatever it takes to avoid driving heavy trucks on it. There’s too much you can’t see…. whether or not the base is well compacted, whether or not the concrete or asphalt is thick enough, etc.
How big is a 12 yard concrete driveway?
I’m going to have 12 yards of dirt delivered for some outdoor projects (ideas from the forum) and want it dumped in my backyard. However, the delivery guy asked me if I trusted my drievway to carry his fully loaded 12 yard truck. The driveway appears to be ~5-6″ thick concrete at the edge (4″ center probably) and appears to be laid over gravel.
Can a bob tail load of dirt crack a driveway?
Unless you’ve had drainage problems around the drive or it was laid over a marsh, the weight of a bob tail load of dirt shouldn’t crack it provided as I said there isn’t preexisting problems.
