What was the problem with my 2009 g6et?
I purchased My 2009 G6ET in Feb, within 2 weeks I was in for 2 warranty jobs. 1 was for the front window; wasn’t happy with some chips and cracks I found. And 2 was the climate control would get stuck on Hot once selected and took a lot of fiddling to make cold again.

My G6E is in metallic burgundy or what Ford called “Seduce” and it certainly seduced me. My car has only got 80,000km on the odometer and yet at 11 years of age it’s still rattle and squeak free. I drive it on bitumen and dirt roads and the dust sealing is as perfect as the day I bought it.

The three-year extended warranty paid for itself when the CD player and the boot struts had to be replaced, and the rear IRS diff bushes split, all after the initial Ford warranty expired. Heavy on fuel in the city, the engine is quiet, responsive if required, and gets about 7.0L/100km in the country.

The FG was the first of the new model. The engines are pretty much bulletproof; nothing really goes wrong with them. The only thing to be cautious about is the G6E Turbo, which could have suffered a hard life at the hands of a hoon.
