Why does my Ford F-150 won’t start?
Sometimes it will start and sometimes it won’t. I was thinking it was the fuel pump driver, only to find out there isn’t one on my vehicle. Last night I tried to start it but it wouldn’t until I sprayed starting fluid into it. It started but won’t stay running unless I keep using starting fluid.

It turned out that i broke a small tab off of the distributor when i was replacing the cap…. that sucked, got a new distributor and was extra careful and it runs great now Well I Guess Ill Replace The Fuel Pump Beacuse I Have A Brand New Fuel Injector And Fuel Filter On It

Edit: If you feel lucky, it cold be the fuel pressure regulator too. Not sure if your truck uses one though. But if it does, and it is part of a fuel return system which returns unneeded fuel rail fuel back to the tank, ask your mechanic to remove the vacuum hose connected to it (which goes to the intake manifold) and check for any fuel inside.

There are a lot of issues that can cause your F150 to crank, but not start. The engine needs air, fuel, and a spark in order to run. It is highly likely that if the engine is cranking, but not starting that it has thrown an OBDII code. It is definitely worth it to use an OBDII scanner to check and see if the engine has thrown any trouble codes.
