I’m having the same issue with a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis – I’ve replaced the alternator (it went suddenly), the battery (it was a few years old) and the terminal cables (one was fraying) and STILL have the light come on randomly. Usually when it comes up the max A/C acts up a little but still runs cold.
