How can I tell if the FICM is 4 or 7 pin?
How can I tell if the FICM is 4 or 7 pin?
You have to remove the little cover (Torx bit T-20) on top of the FICM to see if it is 4 or 7 pin. This is for four pin FICM only since that is the only one I have done. Check the voltage on the screw closest to the fender and ground (Do not touch probe from screw to case), key on engine off (cold less than 60F.)
How does the FICM work with the ignition switch?
It uses engine speed and position signals (*CKPO, *CMPO) to determine when the injectors need to be activated. The ignition switch provides *KEYPWR to the FICM. Once this signal is detected by the FICM, the *MPR output of the FICM will engage the FICM relay. This in turn provides the *FICM PWR and *FICM Logic PWR voltages to the FICM.
What should the voltage be on a FICM?
Voltage should be greater than 45 volts, if not do repair procedure. Figure 1 – FICM / Test Pin Identification 2. FICM Minor Repair Procedure Remove FICM from truck. It was easier if ~ 2 gallons of coolant was removed and coolant reservoir removed. Remove the four screws (Torx bit T-10) below small cover.
What are the codes for shorted coils in FICM?
Open coils produce low current which sets the injector circuit low codes (ie. P0261, P0264, … , P0282). Shorted coils (side shorts) or short to grounds produce high current which sets the injector circuit high codes (ie. P0262, P0265, …, P0283).

Where are the FICM part numbers on a fuel injector?
Note: International FICM part numbers are located on a label on the connector side of the module. To drive the fuel injector, the FICM produces two control signals for each injector. The open coil is driven (via a 20A pulse) to open the injector.

Where are the FICM part numbers on 2003.25?
On 2003.25 (1837127C4 FICMs) there are individual low side drivers for each injector. This means a low side failure would result in a single injector error code. Note: International FICM part numbers are located on a label on the connector side of the module.
