Attach a small piece of steel between the 2 pieces, drill in 4 spots using #10 screws. Option number 2 worked perfectly, although did take some time to complete. If i ever need to replace my fuel lines i will convert to plastic. I used them on my 1992 silverado and it was simple and easy and they will never rust.

One idea that gets overlooked is going to an style hoses. Buy a couple fittings and some hose and make your own lines. Cost difference would be nothing and would make installation 100 times easier. Not to mention it won’t rust out ever again. Just an idea.
