What causes a P2198 code?

Code P2198 is a result of the pre-catalytic converter oxygen sensor detecting a rich air to fuel ratio of the exhaust on bank 2. This DTC code indicates that there is too much fuel in relation to the oxygen in your vehicle, or that the oxygen sensor is faulty and reading an incorrect air/fuel ratio.

What causes an engine to have a p2196 code?

Potential causes of a P2196 code include: Oxygen (O2) or A/F ratio sensor or sensor heater malfunction. Open or short in O2 sensor circuit (wiring, harness) Fuel pressure or fuel injector problem. Faulty PCM. Intake air or engine vacuum leaks. Faulty fuel injector(s) Fuel pressure too high or too low.

Is the p2196 O2 sensor signal biased / stuck rich DTC?

Note: This DTC is very similar to P2195, P2197, P2198. If you have multiple DTC codes, always fix them in the order they appear. For this DTC, the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will illuminate. There may be other symtoms.
