Why does the fuse blow on my Ford Expedition?
They are using too much power and draining the battery and you would only notice it if on long trips or using the a/c more. The kicker is it is NOT a recall or warranty job that Ford will replace for free even though they know about the error. This seems unlikely, too much current would cause the fuse to blow.

Why is the battery light on but charger is off?
The battery light is on but the voltmeter says 13.5 to 14.5 volts depending on the engine revs. When engine is off the volts drop to about 12. My mechanic says that the alternator must be charging – but why is the light on? Assuming that the voltmeter is correct and reads 13.5v to 14.5v, what could be the problem?

You’ll then touch the positive side of the voltmeter to the positive battery wire. With the engine off, you should get a reading somewhere between 12.0 volts and 12.6 volts.
