Can you use any hose for fuel line?
Yes, you can, but there are some hazards/risks involved with using rubber fuel line. Standard rubber vacuum or heater hose should never be used in fuel applications. The hose will deteriorate from the inside out and can plug fuel filters and carburetors with rubber debris, long before it springs an external leak.

Can a flexible fuel line replace a hard line?
Do not replace long runs of hard line with flexible fuel hose. Even the best fuel injection, low-permeation fuel line will have some amount of fuel vapor loss. Also, road debris can damage the line.

Is it safe to replace metal fuel lines?
Yes it’s safe. Dorman sells a kit just for this purpose. Nothing wrong with replacing metal lines as long as the proper hose is used; as in fuel injection hose. The problem with that is that some F.I. hose can be pricy.
What kind of fuel line fitting do I Need?
Neoprene with an outer steel braiding is also offered for custom applications; however, it is difficult to clamp with a standard worm gear clamp. Special AN-type fittings are often necessary with steel-braided fuel line. When a bent filler neck hose is necessary, wire-inserted fuel hose is also offered.
