Look for the control unit of buttons on the driver’s side dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel and under the air vent. On one of the buttons is the outline of a car with the trunk/hatch door lifted.

I have a 2009 Ford Escape, the rear hatch doesn’t open but th glass works fine. I think the problem is the lock actuator because when locking/unlocking the car, you can’t hear the rear actuator making any noise, does the rear hatch have different locking mechanisms than the glass?
