Stuck a test light on the red live, but accidently touched the metal case of the stereo and it sparked. Then the clock and outside temp display went off. Checked the fuse again (both radio and display share the same fuse) and it was fine.

There is power at the fuse, and power coming into the yellow wire on the loom which plugs into the stereo, but nothing on the red.

But I have noticed the display is stuck at “01 January 2000 00:00” and the CD/Radio is not working. It does not show “Code” on the display. I also cannot put in the code due to the Radio (CDR 2005) not working at all. The temperature gauge seems to work though. I am wondering if anyone knows what this may be and could maybe help?

In summary, after the weather got a little cold, suddenly the image disappeared on the information system screen. Simultaneous radio on / off did not work. The radio buttons on the steering wheel are the same. But all other systems are OK. I checked the fuses in all the fuse boxes. No problem. The battery was originally from the 2014 model vehicle.

The other possibility if the wiring remains as when the car was new is a sticking relay somewhere. Most cars have a relay or relay that turn on when the key is in the “on” position. And power to the stuff that is supposed to be powered when the key is “on” goes through that relay. If that relay sticks on, that would explain the radio staying on.
