Can you use a pan gasket on a 351C?
Can you use a pan gasket on a 351C?
I only used the pan portion on my 351C’s. I would take an old pan gasket and cut the sides off. Then use an intake set and coat the intake sides with anti-seize. That way I could re-use the gakets if I only needed to pull the intake for a cam change. Never had a sealing problem with the runners.
Where to put the valley Pan on a 351C muscle car?
I put the valley pan down right on top of the dry end seals and paper gasket, followed by the intake, of course. Are you going stock on the intake? if so, the paper should be fine. I use the Felpro 4 piece, toss out the cork ends and fill the ends with RTV blue. If you are going stock, don’t do it.
Do you need a valley Pan intake gasket?
You won’t need that valley pan either. You’ll also gain on performance. It’s aluminum and about 20 lbs lighter than that stock anchor. e-mail me if you want that intake. I don’t run any intake gaskets on my Strip Dominator-equipped cleveland. Just a thin layer of sealant around each port, and a bead on each end.
Is there a problem with the intake gasket?
Never had a sealing problem with the runners. But there would be a small amount of oil get between the pan and the intake. That’s a good idea, especially on an intake such as a performer, torker, etc, where the oil can get to the bottom of the intake and “cook” there.
What kind of intake gasket does a 351C have?
The intake is an Edelbrock performer 2v (also have a Performer for 4V heads that came with the car but was incorrect..like new) The pan gasket that the machine shop supplied did not have the paper gaskets. Also looks like I should use the end seals, unlike my 302. Some of the pan type intake gaskets where all metal with ridges for sealing.
