The crackling, popping, or static noise of a speaker is almost always caused by a simple connectivity issue. What this means is that somewhere between your amplifier and speaker drive there is a bad wire. This bad wire then causes the driver to move more abruptly, thus causing that interference with your music.

At first the radio stations would change by itself while driving and the radio would turn off randomly. After about a month of driving like that, the radio stopped working all together. No Bluetooth audio via Sync, CD, Radio, Line in, nothing. The dealership fixed the problem under warranty, would of cost me $750, if paid out of pocket.

Ultimately the pop and no audio ended up with squealing, hissing, and popping even if the audio system was turned off. Thanks for the links. I did search but I guess I didn’t use the right selection of terms. The popping problem with my radio has been happening more often. I figured it would just stop working at some point.
