I am running a Stock GM HEI distributor, and it is what i would recommend for a similar swap, I WOULD NOT keep the TBI Distributor, you have no clue as to what the PCM is gonna do without seeing fuel. Now with a TBI engine, there is no crank sensor telling the PCM if its running.
Do you need a TPS for a GMC Truck?
Click to expand… Pretty much, you’ll need a fuel pressure regulator also with a return line, either a Holley 12-803BP or Mallory 4309. Also a Carbed intake for your motor, and that’s it. Unless your lucky like me and have a 700R4, then you don’t need a TPS just a bracket and your rollin. And all my guages work like factory. thanks BB!
When did the GM TBI fuel injection system start?
Same can be accomplished with any TBI system from mid 1980s to 1995 and all information here will lead you to the right choice! Best thing to do is go to junkyard and find a motor similar size as yours and get the complete system and parts.
