Why does my boot keep opening Ford Fiesta?
This may be happening because the rubber stops on the boot are obstructing the catch from engaging, or the lock may need to be repaired or replaced. A possible fix is to remove the rubbers, spray WD-40 on the lock and the tailgate portion to remove any rust that keeps the lock from functioning.

The only part which needs to be removed is in fact the boot switch itself, which is a self contained unit, once this is open you will find it is very wet inside, causing it to think the boot is actually being opened, when the ignition is turned on.
