What causes headlamp to malfunction on Focus ST?
It seems it happens with other ford models but the forums date back over 2 years so nothing up to date. It’s happened on my Focus ST usually when it’s been not used for several days. Contemplating booking it in with the dealer if it persists. Lights appear ok. Some forums talk about auto levelling issue; loose wiring, faulty module.
Is the headlight control module on a Ford Focus?
Ford are replacing the entire headlight and headlight control module as these need to be done together apparently. Although someone at the Ford parts department screwe-d up and I’m now waiting an additional day for the part to come in!

Contact Ford Customer Relation Centre and open a case up with them. They will work with the dealer and get on their case to solve the problem, and keep on at them also. I get weekly calls from my case handler regarding my Sync 2 issue.

Ford know about it but won’t do anything. The lights splay out and the beam does not work. the dash says headlight malfunction service required but this goes when you turn the car off . I have all this on video and dash cam… Ford dealership have seen it and said yes theres a problem but because there are no fault codes won’t do anything ..

Why is my Head Light not working on my Mk3 focus?
New one fitted but still showed voltage drop causing dash to display message. Turned out to be loose wiring connection in the footwell. Dealer just crimped the connector to the wire. Hadn’t been knocked or pulled – down to factory build.
