My car’s key has the ability to open the windows by holding down the “unlock” button. However, for each incident, the key was in a key tray without anything or anyone coming in contact with it. In fact, the last time this happened, was in the middle of the night. Yes, I’m getting your reasoning.

Windows and locks that open by themselves! I regularly hire Vauxhall motors and have driven many cars especially Insignia’s and Astra’s. From time to time I’ve returned to a parked car only to find it has opened all the windows and unlocked the doors all by itself. Sometimes the windows are partially open, other times fully.

Why are my front windows opening on their own?
Lately both front windows go down by themselves, sometime when I’m not there (or unaware that it is doing it, perhaps as I turn to leave). A couple of times I’ve had the key fob – remote in my hand when it does it, but to my knowledge there are no buttons for this, and I have to insert the “key” and turn it to accessories to get them to go back up.

Why do my windows roll down when I unlock the car?
If the Intelligent Key fob is placed in a pocket, back pocket, purse or tight pants and (within range of the car) something presses against the unlock button for 3 seconds the windows will go down. Once the 3 second thresh hold is reached the windows start down.
