Is the Mondeo reliable?

The Mondeo is reasonably reliable. A reliability score of 67% in our latest survey isn’t the greatest, but neither is it appalling – so if you find a car that’s been well looked after and keep it maintained properly, it should look after you in return.

Will valet key set off alarm?

The only way to turn the alarm off with the valet key is put it into the ignition and turn to the “on” position. There is a “valet mode” for the alarm system. To not sound the alarm when unlocking with either key type, you must set the system into valet mode before leaving the car.

Where is the alarm horn on a Mondeo?

The alarm horn was in the left hand rear quarter panel – I had to take the boot trim out and reach in to pull the wiring plug off. It’s only one live wire, as uses negative earth.

Where is the bonnet switch on a Ford Mondeo?

Replaced the switch, but it didn’t really solve the issue. The bonnet switch (on the Escort) is right at the front of the engine bay, above/near one of the headlights and looks a bit like a rubber bump stop. You’ll find it on one side and there won’t be a matching one on the other side – if you press down, you’ll feel the spring go down.
