Why is the fuel cap flap not opening?

The flap over the fuel filler cap won’t come open, we cannot hear any solenoid moving when locking and unlocking the car. Another problem which might be related to this is that remote control key has also stopped working, I have replaced the cell in the key fob withno change.

There is a slotted circular button in the panel which when turned a quarter left or right will open the panel . Inside the panel is a black outer cable coming from the direction of the petrol flap and turning downwards . How can I get the fuel flap to move?

The easy fix is to spray the pin with lube (WD-40). Open the fuel door, depress the latch that holds the door shut, lock the car, and you will see the metal pin move to the locked position. Spray the pin with the lube of your choice and actuate the locks a few times. After 3 – 4 lock/unlocks the pin began to move smoothly.
