When I pulled the bulb I noticed that the connector was slightly melted at the low beam ground terminal (the one between the two parallel side terminals) and that both filaments seemed to be intact. I confirmed that the bulb as good and tightened up the flag connector on the melted terminal.

Look for a connector with corroded terminal, when cleaned and securely reconnected the problem will go away. How long does a low beam headlight socket last?
My truck is an International Prostar, 2009, cummins ISX engine. I have replaced several low beam headlight sockets so far and every new socket I install , lasts about 1 to 2 months. After that it starts to melt and burn right where it connects to the bulb.
Is there a problem with my headlight plugs?
Hello GMTnation I have had an issue with my Headlight Plugs burning up inside the Headlight assembly, I purchased new Headlight assemblies in december and noticed today that the headlight was out on one side again.. took the bulb out and What do you know Light and Pigtail Melted.. Not sure what to do here ..
