Where can I change the ignition barrel on a Ford XH?
If they are the original you should be able to get a code from your local Ford dealer and get a key cut. Changing the Barrel in the ignition requires a key to be input before you can remove it. I replaced the entire ignition barrel assy in my spare XH.
How do you remove the ignition barrel on a Ford Falcon?
Below is the section from the workshop manual that describes depressing the pin in the side of the ignition lock barrel, it doesn’t mention a hole and wire. I do believe that method to be the case though on the earlier Falcons.

Sounds like it may be the ignition switch located on the steering column near the brake pedal. Or, possibly the solenoid. Or…. is this vehicle transponder equipped and you don’t have a proper transponder key? try holing the key on crank and bang under the steering wheel, if it shatrts your bcm is faulty.
