Why is my Chevy Cobalt making a loud humming sound?
Change both front wheel hub assemblies, if you hear a loud humming sound coming from the front of car. If one side is bad the other side is right behind. Just changed on my daughters car, took a couple of hours to replace, Chevy Cobalts are junk, will never by another chevy cobalt again. Looking to sell and buy a nice used HONDA !
Why is my Chevy Cobalt roaring at me?
If tires look ok, get front end back up in the air. using a stethoscope or other long tool) listen to the hub bearings from side to side. Careful not to hit any moving parts. If you can still not tell which side it is coming from it may be coming from transmission differential bearing or axle bearings.
What makes a loud noise at the front of a car?
Loud noise from front end when car reaches 25 mph and gets louder as speed increases. Push in clutch at speed and engine at idle and sound is still there. I think it’s a wheel bearing or cv joint not sure which side.

Why does my humming sound like a wheel?
If the noise changes going one way or the other, it point towards a bearing. As the load is taken off the bearing usually, the noise will change. Been burned doing that but it works much more often than not. Bearing won’t always have play yet it still is bad.

Why does my front suspension make a clunking noise?
This condition may be caused by the jounce bumper slamming into the upper spring seat because it is not retained in the correct up position. The jounce bumper loses position due to oil being deposited onto its retention fingers. The oil is from the strut leaking.
